At the time of his death, Rev. Richard Douglass was the senior pastor at the Putnam City Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Marilyn and Richard Douglass were murdered in their Okarche, Oklahoma, home by Gene Ake and Steven Hatch. Ake and Hatch were planning to bulgarize the Douglass home, but during the confrontation shot Richard and Marilyn and their two children. The children survived , but they have had to endure this terrible tragedy.
