GERTRUDE WHITNEY
Mrs. Gertrude P. Whitney, 65, of 4053 Oak Dr., Beaverton, died Tuesday, Aug. 15, in the Midland Hospital Center after a short illness.
Born in Ludington on March 24, 1913, she came to Gladwin County in 1966 from Flint.
The former Gertrude Okoniewski, she was married to James H. Whitney on April 20, 1931, in Flint.
Besides her husband she is survived by one son, Donald of Millington; 4 sisters, Mrs. Eugene Tate of Flint, Mrs. Clara Rainey of Westland, Mrs. Helen Moe of Midland, and Patricia Okoniewski of Ludington; 6 brothers, Roman of Yakima, Washington; Leo, Chick, Eddie, Edward and Kenneth of Flint; and 8 grandchildren.
Rites will be held Friday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. Burial will be in the Billings Cemetery. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today, Wednesday. Gladwin County Record dated
