Over the years Linda devoted much of her time to serving the community as a soccer coach; Cub Scout den leader; Boy Scout volunteer as a counselor for music, ice-skating, and skiing merit badges as well as the Ad Altere Dei Catholic Boy Scout medal; and with the Servant’s of God’s Love at Emmanuel House. She spent many years dedicated to serving the Girl Scouts as a troop leader, Catholic religious medal leader, and area registrar; and she earned the Outstanding Leader Award, Outstanding Volunteer Award, and the National Adult Appreciation pin. Linda was a dedicated servant to God where she served her parish, St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Saline, Michigan, by teaching religious education classes, starting and then serving on the hospitality committee, cleaning the altar linens, and serving as a Eucharistic Minister.
Linda will be fondly remembered for her magic laundry basket, welcome home cookies, unwavering commitment to supporting her children’s activities, spoiling her cats, her love of gardening, puzzles, Jazzercise, athletic activities, and world travels.
Left to honor Linda and remember her love are her beloved husband of 29 years Jim; four children, Alex (Kristen) Olsen, Tyler (Sarah Menchak) Olsen, Monica Olsen, and Vince Olsen; father, John Alt; siblings, Gerald (Julane) Alt, David Alt, Teresa (Gerry) Gertiser, Maria (Tim) Waxler, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother Josephine and sister Sandra (Alt) Cantley.
