Raymond Ray Brown, my dad, was born in Morgan County, Alabama in 1931. He married my mom, Joyce in 1955, and had my brother, Danny and me. He was greatly blessed with five grandchildren... Brian, Elizabeth, Emily, Erin and Laura. He worked at Wolverine Tube, Inc. In Decatur AL, and retired after 40 years. He was a member of the Morgan County Sheriff's Mounted Posse and the United States Marine Corps. For several years we were involved in the horse show circuit. Raymond would compete in the Racking Horse division with Belle, and I would compete in Pony Class and Lead Line with our pony, Beauty. We had several other horses through the years. Before I was born, when my brother was little, they were also involved in drag racing, and boating. He was a very down-to-earth man. We could never go out to eat dinner, without him seeing someone he knew! He passed away in 1994, after a 10 month battle with lung cancer. He is great missed.
