Marlene J. Matter, 76, of Herndon, passed away on March 25, 2013, peacefully, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA.
She was born in Hebe, PA on July 3, 1936, a daughter of the late Elva (Weist) Leitzel and the late Warren Leitzel.
Marlene was employed as a Secretary for Meckley's Farm Supply, Mandata.
She was the wife of Lamar Matter, married for 58 years.
She was a member of St Paul's UCC, Urban; Rebecca Idella Lodge, Dornsife; Women's Group at St Paul's UCC. Marlene's joy in life was her family, grandchildren, and baking for her family and others.
Marlene is survived by her loving spouse Lamar Matter, 3 daughters - Tammy and husband Mitch Leiby of Catawissa, Cindy and husband Clint Geist of Leck Kill, Shelly and husband JD Straub of Dalmatia; brother-in-law - Donald Wetzel; sister-in-law - Betty Leitzel; grandson - Nathan Leiby of Catawissa; granddaughter - Allyson Leiby of Catawissa, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sister, Irene Bohner, sister, Gladys Maurer, sister, Roxie Wetzel, brother, Ray Leitzel, brother, Leon Leitzel, brother, Glenn Leitzel.
A Visitation will be held Friday, March 29, 2013 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Saint Paul's UCC, Urban. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Saint Paul's UCC with , Rev. Tom Degnitz officiating. Interment will take place in the Saint Paul's Cemetery, Urban.
