H.Farewell Hawthorn served as Srgt. in 1st Vt Cavalry Co. K, he has a Civil War tombstone with this inf. on it and at time of enlistment gave his residence as Bridgeport, VT.
He died 7-28-1908 and was buried at Evergreen Cemetery under the name of Fred Hawthorne by John Buford Post G.A.R. of Everett. His tombstone and military records spells his name as Hathorn.
