Amos Hansen
Funeral services for Amos Hansen, 65, of 812 Newman Ave., will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian church.
Mr. Hansen died in Methodist Hospital, Des Moines, Thursday afternoon, about two hours after he suffered a heart attack in Des Moines where he gone on a business trip.
He was born Feb. 6, 1900, at Voorhies, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Hansen.
Mr. Hansen was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
He was married to Helene Marie Nelson, Feb. 21, 1923, in Cedar Falls.
Mr. Hansen was employed by the John Deere Tractor Works, Waterloo for 43 years until his retirement last year.
Surviving with the widow are two daughters, Mrs. George Clark, West Des Moines, and Mrs. Wayne Thompson, Colorado Springs, Colo.; a son, Leon, of Elgin; four brothers, George of Nashua; Thorvald of Lordsburg, N.M.; John and Alfred, both Rt. 2; five sisters, Mrs. Carlton Holmes, 908 Grant St., Waterloo; Mrs. Margaret Robinson, Sartori Nurses Home; Mrs. George Leversee, Rt. 1; Mrs. Walter Ehlert, 721 W. 6th St., and Mrs. Dale Holmes, 603 Walnut St., and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Hansen was preceded by his parents, one brother and one grandson.
The Rev. Doyle Hansen, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The Dahl funeral home is in charge.
A memorial fund for the benefit of Sartori hospital has been established.
