Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 1998, at Mc-Ewen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, with the Reverend William Hill and Mr. Donald Newell officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Gibson was born June 6, 1925 in Charlotte, the son of the late S.W. and Grace helms Gibson, Sr. He was employed for Charlotte Pipe and Foundry for 27 years and retired from the State of North Carolina Highway Department.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Wooten Gibson, son, Dan K. Gibson Jr., daughter, Melody Ann Gibson, all of Belmont, NC, and a daughter, Pat Jordan of Charlotte, NC; 2 brothers, Hassey Gibson of Charlotte and Doub Gibson of Mooresville, NC; sister, Vi-ola Gettis of Charlotte, NC; 8 grand-children and 3 great-grandchildren.
The family is at the home of a daughter, Pat Jordan, 6627 Misty Morning Drive in Charlotte.
