Sharon Marie Hubbard, nee Walker, 59, of Louisville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 24, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Sharon was born in Louisville, KY, on August 7, 1955. She graduated from Assumption High School in 1973 and married Ray Hubbard III on July 10, 1976. Sharon enjoyed flower gardening, taking walks, playing games, and laughing with family and friends. Most important, she was a devoted wife and loving mother who took great care and pride in her family. Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Marie Rose Avery. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Ray Hubbard III; their three children: Ray Hubbard IV (Angela), Marian Hubbard, and Katherine Hubbard, all of Louisville; her parents, WIlliam Walker Sr. and Mary Lee Jeck, her brother, William Walker Jr. (Cheryl), her sister, Sandy Loveless (Terry), and many more dear friends and family. The funeral mass will take place on September 30th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. A celebration of Sharon’s life will follow from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wildwood Country Club. It was Sharon’s wish that family and friends wear bright colors and gather together to enjoy light fare, share fond memories, and smile. All are invited to attend her mass, her celebration, or both.
