Major League Baseball Player: A member of the famous '27 Yankees Murderers Row Team, Paschal was a hard hitting outfielder who was usually stuck on the bench behind the trio of Babe Ruth, Earle Combs, and Bob Meusel. Whenever he was called upon to play though, he usually did not disappoint. Originally property of the Indians, he bounced around the minors for almost 10 seasons until he found a home in New York. He was finally given his first real chance to play regularly with the Yankees in 1925, a season that he actually replaced Babe Ruth in the Yankees starting lineup. Ruth had a host of problems on and off the field that that season, including several physical ailments. Things got so bad that Yanks manager Miller Huggins put Paschal in just to add a spark to the team. Paschal went on to have the best year of his career, as he batted .360 with 12 Homers and 56 RBI in just 89 games. He stayed with the yanks for the rest of his major league career, appearing in both the 1926 and 1928 World Series. In the minors he played in the American Association and Southern Association among others. After his retirement he worked for the Cunningham Wholesale Company of Charlotte, North Carolina.
