Mrs. Anna Story, 82, of Valley died Friday evening, Jan. 10, 2003 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Ala.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 12 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Shawmut with Dr. Jerome King and the Rev. Rusty Letson officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Story is survived by her son, Charles (Beverly) Story of Valley; five grandchildren, Paul Story, Allyson Story, Bobby H. Grant Jr., Hope Wood and Shelby Grant; five great-grandchildren; and her sister, Helen Lumpkin of Montgomery, Ala.

Born Oct. 11, 1920 in Chambers County, Mrs. Story was a retired employee of WestPoint Stevens Riverdale Mill. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Shawmut. Mrs. Story was preceded in death by her husband, W.M. Story, and her son, Bobby Grant Sr. She was the daughter of the late Olee Wills Gibson and Charlie Gibson.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Shawmut First Baptist Church Building Fund, or to the Shawmut First Baptist Church Challenge to Build Fund in her memory.
