Marion Frank Meador, 83, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 22, 2014. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Shady Oaks Baptist Church, 1336 Cavender Drive, Hurst. Interment: 12:30 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Frank was a 1954 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and was valedictorian of his class. He later attended MIT and earned master's degrees in civil engineering and nuclear engineering. He had many assignments during his 20-year career, which included serving in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. After retirement, he felt called into the ministry and moved to Fort Worth in 1976 to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned his Ph.D. He pastored two churches and taught adjunct classes at two seminaries. He later taught at a small Christian school in Arlington, Grace Preparatory Academy, until 2005. Frank loved and served the Lord first and foremost and then his family, friends and his country. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy. Survivors: Daughter, Cathy Shaw and her husband, Mike; grandchildren, Michael Shaw Jr. and wife, Jennifer, and Alison Sheffield and husband, Cratin; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Aaron Shaw, and Zane and Asher Sheffield; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
