Lonnie was born in Cullman, Alabama, to Lonnie and Gertrude Stewart in 1936. He moved to Holland in his early twenties. He attended the Church of God of Prophecy.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Grace; children, Dan and Staci Stewart of Holland, Lori Busscher of Holland, Terry and Amy Stewart of Holland, Kellie and Robert Trujillo of Fennville, Jason Stewart of Grand Rapids; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Faye Perkins, Effie Misuik, Bessie Hudson, Marjorie McHargue, Donald Stewart, Eugene and Ann Stewart, Marie Stewart, George Wissinger, Gayle Stewart, Pearl Geerlings, David and Charlotte Miles, Crystal and Robert Walters, Rose and Craig Stam, Marvin Miles, Hazel and Bill Rice; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 27, at Church of God of Prophecy, 475 Hazel Ave., Holland, with Pastor Leola Baine officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 26, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315. 16th St., Holland.
