He was born on July 11, 1971, in Albert Lea, MN., the son of Gary Putrino and Peggy (Putrino) Moller. He moved with his mother to Bemidji at the age of two and attended Lincoln and Northern Elementary Schools, Bemidji Middle School and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1990. Joe grew up on Big Bass Lake with his mother, stepfather, Henry Moller, and his two sisters, Kristen and Anne.
While in high school, Joe was involved in swimming, tennis, and concert choir. In his teen years, he was an accomplished snow and water skier. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting grouse. Joe was an avid runner and cyclist. He could often be seen running on the coldest as well as the warmest days. He shared many of these activities with his friends and cousins. In addition to loving nature and outdoor activities, Joe also loved books and music. These passions brought him great comfort and joy.
Joe had a kind and gentle spirit, a wonderful sense of humor and great love for family and friends. He knew how much he was appreciated and supported by them. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his mother Peggy Moller and step father Henry Moller of Bemidji; sisters, Kirsten (Tim) Ryan of St. Louis Park, MN. And Anne Moller of New Hope, MN; nephew, Zachary and niece Amelia Ryan; father Gary Putrino and step-mother, Jean Falkenbridge Putrino of Omaha, NB; step-brother, George Putrino; step-sister, Grace Putrino of Omaha, NB; grandmother Alice Dugan of Albert Lea; grandparents, Joseph and Barbara Putrino of Endwell, NY; and many dear aunts, uncles, and cousins.
