CORDOVA, Tennessee--Harold Roy Pearson, Jr., 56, died of heart failure Thursday, December 26, 1996, at this home in Cordova, Tennessee.

Roy was born Oct. 14, 1940 in Portland, Oregon to Harold Roy and Lena Mae Bagley Pearson. He attended schools in Midvale, Utah and graduated in 1958 from Jordan High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served from 1959-1963. He and Martha Neal Hammons married on June 11, 1960 in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Roy served on the Salt Lake City Fire Department and later on the St. George, Utah Police Department. He was founder and president of Electro Technical Corporation (ETC). He spent the last 15 years working for Nucor Corporation, 1981-1987 at Nucor Steel in Plymouth, Utah, and as Maintenance Manager from 1987-1996 at Nucor-Yamato Steel in Blytheville, Arkansas. Roy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Pearson of Cordova, Tennessee; his mother, Lena Mae Sanders, Salt Lake City, Utah; his daughters, Sabra Lynn Beasley, Blytheville, Arkansas; Carla Marie Leak, Tremonton, Utah; Adrianne Coleman, Winchester, England; Nicole Glasscock and Lexie Pearson, Cordova, Tennessee; Eight grandchildren; brothers: Dan Pearson and Keith Pearson; sisters: Marion Gleason, Arlene Carlton, Anna Marie Reading; Kathryn Anderson, Judy Francisco, Carma Nielsen, and Ellen Diane Bryant.

Roy was an avid supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent in the name of Roy Pearson to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 31, 1996 at 2 p.m. at the Layton West Stake Center, 1715 West 1600 North, Layton, Utah, under the direction of Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary. Family and friends may call prior to the service from 12:30-1:45 p.m. Interment: Kaysville City Cemetery.
