Darrell Freeman, age 83, of Spring Valley, MN passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Spring Valley Care Center.
Darrell Kenneth Freeman was born February 7, 1931 in Spring Valley, MN to Wayland and Alice (Furhmeister) Freeman. He graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1949. After high school, he enlisted into the United States Army and served from 1952-1954. On August 17, 1952, Darrell was united in marriage to June Fox. Darrell owned his own construction business, Freeman Construction, and built roads and worked on conservation projects throughout southeast Minnesota. Family was very important to Darrell, and he loved spending time camping on his farm. Darrell was a member of the American Legion for 55+ years.
Darrell is survived by his wife, June of Spring Valley; son, Daniel (Vicki) Freeman of Golden Valley, MN; grandson, Nathaniel Freeman; brother, Warren (Eileen) Freeman of Spring Valley, MN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayland and Alice and son, Dean Freeman.
