Funeral Services Held Here Today For Eugene Fath

Eugene L. Fath, 81, East Fork township farmer, died suddenly at his home southeast of Hillsboro Monday at 8:30 p.m. Mr. Fath had not been well for some time, but had been up and about and feeling somewhat better than usual when he was suddenly stricken and died.

Native of East Fork
Eugene Logan Fath was born in East Fork township March 7, 1876, a son of the late John and Mary Martha (Nugent) Fath. His entire life was spent in Montgomery county, most of it in the township of his birth. On Feb. 19, 1901, he married Miss Matilda Mary Kaburick were married at Hillsboro, and she and their three sons survive: Herschel H. Fath, of Hillsboro; Melville C. Fath, of Schererville, Ind., and Maynard L. Fath, of Springfield. Also surviving are six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Maude May of Hillsboro. He was preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters; John, Charles, Guy and Luke Fath, Mrs. Dora Henry, Mrs. Anna Lentz, Mrs. Ethel Joyce, and Ida Fath, who died in infancy.

Mr. Fath attended the Presbyterian church. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock this Thursday afternoon at Bass funeral home, the Rev. Howard Janssen, pastor of Hillsboro Presbyterian church, assisted by the Rev. Fr. Timothy McKeogh, pastor of St. Agnes church, officiating. Burial was in St. Agne cemetery.
