Margaret Clark Coleman, passed away on Tuesday, January 15th, 2013 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, TN. She was born in Clay County to Charles Edward and Mary Pearl (Upchurch) Clark, and was the youngest of six children. Margaret graduated from high school in Clay County, TN, and then attended Tennessee Tech University, earning her bachelor's degree in education. She received her master's degree from Austin Peay State University, where she also completed work toward an Ed.S. Her career as a teacher spanned more than forty years, and included teaching positions in Clay County, Dickson County, and Humphreys County, TN. Margaret was an exemplary educator and role model who touched the lives of hundreds of children. She received numerous awards for her outstanding work in education, including Humphreys County Teacher of the Year. On December 19th, 1947, she married John Everette Coleman. They were happily married for 54 years, until his passing in 2001. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; sisters Ruth Holman, Ann Keisling, and Edwina Langford; and a brother, Durell Clark. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lucinda and Hugh Mitchell of Indianapolis, IN; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Suzanne Coleman of Nashville, and Stephen and Marion Coleman of Tullahoma; brother, A.C. Clark of Cookeville; and a grandson, Alex Thurman and wife Lauren of San Francisco, CA.
