Willis R. Reed III, 35, of Howard, passed away Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, at his home.Born Feb. 16, 1979, in State College, he was the son of Willis R. and Debra L. Nyman Reed Jr., of Howard. On July 2, 2005, in Julian, he married Jodi L. Shaw.Willis was a 1997 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School and a 2001 graduate of Penn Tech College. He was of the Protestant faith. Willis was employed as a maintenance man at the Seven Mountain Wine Cellars. He truly loved his job. He did everything from maintenance to bottling the wine.Willis enjoyed being outdoors, helping his pap on the farm, going to camp and being with family and friends. He made several attempts of being a gardener. He adored his children, and loved taking them on the four-wheeler to the barn or to the camp. His proudest moment came this year at the Grange Fair when his son, Rem, took first place in the Peddle Tractor Pull.Willis is survived by: his parents; wife; children, Jozie R. "Gypsy" Reed, Emery K. "Rem" Reed and Evan W. "Sonny Boy" Reed, all of Howard; his brother, Jesse A. Reed, of Howard; a sister, Kristin, L. Wolanski and her husband, Eric, of Howard; maternal grandfather, Joseph Nyman, of Howard; his faithful sidekick, Tank; little buddy, Walter; numerous aunts and uncles; a cousin; two nephews; one niece; and many, many friends.Willis was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Thorus Nyman and an uncle, Robert Mann.A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at the J.K. Yearick Center , 760 Walnut St., Howard, with Pastor Bo King officiating. After the service, burial will take place in Schenck's Cemetery, Howard Township.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today, at the J.K. Yearick Center.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Willis Reed Memorial Fund at any Kish Bank of donor's choice.Arrangements have been entrusted to Kader-Neff Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 135 Main St., Howard
