Katy Peterson Thomas, 79, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Choctaw Residence Center in Choctaw, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2014, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Griffin officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 9 a.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Thomas was born on November 23, 1934, to Deva Froshour Dawkins and Henry Dawkins. She was a member of Pugh’s Mill Methodist Church; and she was retired from Classic Cleaners where she served as a clerk.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Eddie James Peterson and Elwin McHann; her son, Thomas Peterson; her parents; her brothers, Frank Dawkins and Donald Dawkins; and her sister, Ruby Gene Kemp.
Services are under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS.
