Their children were Malissa b. abt. 1858; Martha b. abt. 1862; Ephriam b. abt. 1865 who married Ida and had Margaret, Freeman and Carl Lorn; and Minerva b. abt. 1867. Mary Applegate had three children by her former husband Lilborn Renfro: Nancy; Houston; and James.
He married Mary Haskins June 7, 1874 in Mercer, MO.
James traveled a lot and was in AR, MO, KY, and TX.

Reuben was born in Virginia and migrated to SC then to NC and KY.
He died in Hickman Co., TN in 1823.

Reuben Stringer was in Greenville S. C. in the late 1700s. In Deed Book A page 54 Reuben sold 200 ac. of land on the North side of Saluda River on July 16, 1787.This land was a land grant to him in S. C. on Jan. 21, 1785.
His wife Elizabeth signed the deed along with Reuben.

Also Reuben was elected High Sheriff of Greenville for a period of two years
