Steven W. “Beaver” Lloyd, 55, of Millville and a former resident of Bridgeton died suddenly and unexpectedly at home on Monday morning September 22, 2014. His death occurred four days after the death of his sister Barbara A. Lloyd on September 18th.

Born in Bridgeton on July 1, 1959, he was the son of the late Leon Vernon Lloyd and the late Myrtle M. (nee Lowers) Lloyd. He was the husband of Patricia A. (nee McDowell) Lloyd to whom he was married for 32 years.

Raised in Bridgeton, “Beaver” graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1977 and had been a lifelong resident of Bridgeton until moving to Millville three years ago.

He worked for the former Major Clothing in Bridgeton until it closed and was also employed as a manager for the Coastal Gas Stations. Before retiring on a full medical disability, he was employed by Amcor Tube Drawing in Millville.

Beaver is described by his family as a “total sports nut.” He was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan and a big NASCAR fan. His favorite drivers were both Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Jr. He also liked the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA and the Pittsburgh Pirates of MLB. A former softball player, he played in both the Bridgeton Church League and the Bridgeton City League. He had also been a softball umpire.

His other hobbies included playing bingo and bowling.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Steven W. Lloyd Jr. and Crystal Lloyd, both of Millville and two grandchildren, Savannah and Johnnie Anderson Jr. He is also survived by his siblings, Charles Lloyd, Mike Lloyd (Doris), Rodney Lloyd (Stacy), Brenda Oquendo (Freddie) and Kimberly Imboden (Jim) and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. His sister, Barbara preceded him in death on Thursday.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a combined funeral service for Beaver and his sister at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton on Friday morning September 26th at 11 o’clock where friends will be received from 9:30 until 11

Pastor David Strope will officiate.

The interment will take place privately.

Memorial contributions are requested in Beaver Lloyd’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 1651 Old Cuthbert Rd., Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
