EARL RARDIN DIED TUESDAY AT EXCELSIOR SPRINGS HOME
Graveside Funeral Service Held Here Yesterday Afternoon
C. Earl Rardin, 59, native of this community and a nephew of Mrs. G.L. Miller of King City, died Tuesday morning at his home in Excelsior Springs after a brief serious illness. His funeral was held yesterday forenoon at Excelsior Springs and the body was brought here for a burial and a brief graveside service in the King City cemetery (sic).
Mr. and Mrs. Rardin visited here at the Miller home a week ago last Sunday. He had been in failing health several months but his condition had not been considered critical until a few days ago. Besides his widow and one son J.W. Rardin of Excelsior Springs his nearest survivors are uncles and aunts. Mrs. Rufus H. Limpp of King City is a cousin.
Mr. Rardin was the last surviving of the children of William D. and Belle Taylor Rardin. He was born on the old Taylor homestead northwest of King City, the same farm, incidentally, on which his mother was born. He was well known here in his younger days. He had lived in Excelsior Springs since 1907, a good deal of the time engaged in the grocery and meat business.
