OTTO E KAELLNER born in 1918 in St Joseph County Indiana, attended school at Fremont Indiana before working at a store in Coldwater. He had served three years in the army and was discharged just before Pearl Harbor.

Reenlisting he was commissioned a B-17 pilot and had served 25 missions in those craft when he volunteered for British Mosquito bomber duty. He had been in air combat 13 months' when killed piloting a Mosquito back to England from a raid Nov 6, 1944.

Surviving besides his mother, Mrs Emma Kaellner of Route 2 Coldwater, are three sisters and four brothers: Louise, who was an army nurse, Marie of Decatur Illinois, and Margaret of Garrett Indiana, John, who was an army ordnance lieutenant, Carl who was a navy seaman, Henry who was an aviation cadet and Paul who works in Coldwater.
