Paul Junior Garriott, 90, of Scottsburg, Indiana, formerly of Elizabeth, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Scott Villa Living Center.
He was born on June 22, 1924 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late Paul Ivan and Jessie Alice (Rutherford) Garriott.
Paul graduated from the old Little York High School in 1943 and earned a BSL Degree from Louisville Bible College. He was a farmer and also pastor for several area churches, including the Old Union Community Church in Elizabeth, Indiana where he retired from in 2012. He was a member of the Mt. Hebron Church in Scottsburg, Indiana, an U.S. Army veteran of WW II and a member of the old American Legion Post in Little York, Indiana.
Paul was preceded in death by three brothers, Daniel Leon, Colby and Marion Lee Garriott and two sisters, Fern Bryan and Alice Polley.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene
(Royse) Garriott; three sons, Dewayne Garriott and his wife Donna, Steve R. Garriott and his wife Betty both of Scottsburg, Indiana and Bill Oldaker and his wife Sharon of Lexington, Indiana; two daughters, Paula Weaver and her husband David and Deanna Jackson and her husband Danny all of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister, Ruth Payne of Sarasota, Florida; 15 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 at Mt. Hebron Church with burial in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
