SABRINA D. CLARK, 44, of NEPTUNE, died Saturday, March 11, when the vehicle in which she was traveling veered off the road, and struck a guardrail and a concrete bridge support on the Garden State Parkway in Aberdeen, authorities said.

Sabrina D. Clark was pronounced dead at the scene of the 4:25 a.m. crash on the southbound express lanes near milemarker 119.3, said State Police Sgt. Ken Nuzzi.

Clark was active in her church, said her father, Ramon Gonzalez. She spoiled her 15-year-old nephew, buying him contact lenses, clothes, a cell phone, he said. She loved life, Gonzalez said.

"Anybody who met Sabrina fell in love with her," he said. "There was just something about her. . .She really didn't deserve to go this way. . .She was a beautiful young lady."

Gonzalez said his daughter and some friends had apparently gone to a nightclub in New York City on Friday.

Police said Clark was a passenger in a 1992 Volvo, driven by Eugenia Meade, 49, of Neptune. Police are trying to determine what caused Meade to veer off the road, and hit the left guardrail, then head back across the highway, and hit the bridge support before coming to rest.

Meade suffered a fractured leg in the crash and was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune; Clark was pronounced dead at 5:05 a.m., said Nuzzi.

No summonses were issued, and the accident remains under investigation.

Gonzalez said he was getting ready to run errands on Saturday morning when state troopers and a Neptune police officer knocked on the door.

"When they told me Sabrina had passed, it really hit me very hard," he said.

His wife, Dolores, was in Edison because the national president of the American Legion was scheduled to appear there and Dolores was on the committee preparing for that visit. He called another daughter, and the two of them drove to the Edison hotel where his wife was staying.

"As soon as she saw us, she knew something was wrong," he said. "A lot of ladies from the American Legion were there to comfort her. We packed up her clothes and came home, and we've been grieving ever since."

Ms. Clark received her education in the Neptune public school system and received her bachelor's degree in business administration from Stockton College and her master's degree in human resource administration from the New School University, New York. Sabrina was contracted as an events coordinator for Prudential Financial, Newark. She was a faithful member of the Agape Family Worship Center, Rahway.

She was predeceased by her sister, Dawn L. Clark. Cherishing her memory are her parents, Ramon and Dolores Gonzalez, at home; an uncle, Hillory and his wife Queen Slyke of Neptune; a nephew, David Anthony Lomack-Clark; seven sisters, Maria Kirkwood and Ramona Gonzalez, both of Neptune, Evelyn Crews of East Orange, Denise Gonzalez, Collette Williams of Lawton, Okla., Cheryl Clark-Hopkins of Jersey City, and Ebonie Copeland of Owings Mills, Md.; and a cousin, James Slyke of Atlanta, Ga.
