He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, April 21, 1933, a son of the late Grover Cleveland Looney and Pearl Clevenger Looney.
He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Portsmouth, Ohio and also served as a Post Master in Sciotoville, Ohio, he also was a former Marine, very avid golfer and a great dad, father and papa.
Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Adkins of Minford, Ohio and Laurie Looney, Cincinnati, Ohio, one son, Steve Looney of Georgetown, Kentucky, one sister, Ginny "Eddie" Marsh of Portsmouth, Ohio, four grandchildren, Mandy Adkins, Jesse Adkins, Gage Looney and Rease Looney.
Preceded in death by two brothers, Rudy and Cecil Looney, five sisters, Arlene Looney, Marchetta Warner, Hagar Looney, Edna Smallwood and Georgia Renako.
Graveside services and viewing 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg, Ohio with Rev. Bob Sweeney, officiating, Military graveside services by the James Dickey American Legion Post #23 of Portsmouth, Ohio.
