No paper, one (of several) dated 2 November 1959. Mrs Alexander Passes Away. Mrs. Clara Jennie Alexander, 82, widow of former Councilman Franklin A. Alexander, died here today. Born in Chicago she moved with her family to San Diego. She taught school in San Jacinto prior to her marriage to Mr. Alexander. The couple lived in Los Angeles for 10 years. In 1909 they came here and he engaged in business. A son of a former mayor of Los Angeles, Mr. Alexander served on the Redlands city council. He died in 1956. For the past 12 years Mrs. Alexander had been in poor health. For the past two years she had been confined to a nursing home. An active member of the First Methodist church during much of her life she was treasurer of the Women's Christian Service Society. As a member of the Contemporary Club her special interest was the art section. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jerome B. Kavanaugh (Marjorie) of San Bernardino, and Mrs. Lucille Danielson of Redlands. Two brothers, Eugene Goodhart of Long Beach and Milton Goodhart of Hemet, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Wheeler of San Bernardino and Mrs. Ira G. Silver of San Diego also survive. One of her daughters, Ruth Alexander, died in 1922. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Olivewood Cemetery, Riverside. F. Arthur Cortner Chapel in charge
