Auger, William J. "Papa" age 86, of Plymouth, passed away in Sun City, Arizona, on January 11, 2008. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Russell and sisters, Lucille and Madeline. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 65 years, Shirley ("Nana"); daughters, Cheryl (Steven) Lange, Michelle (James) Severud, Patsy (Joe) Duffy, Debra (Richard) Hagen, and Colleen (Lee) Olson; grandchildren, Robert (Dana) Day, Christopher Day, Melissa Severud, William Severud, Patrick Severud, Bridget (Klaus) Schumacher, Joseph (Regan) Duffy, James Hagen, Matthew Hagen, Timothy Olson, Daniel Olson and Casey Olson; great- grandchildren, Ruby Day, Finley and Mia Duffy, Elena and Viviana Day, and Nicklaus Schumacher. Bill was a true patriarch, a beacon of love, wisdom and humor to his family and countless friends and associates. A native of Minneapolis and graduate of Roosevelt High School, he served in the Coast Guard in Alaska during World War II. Bill and his brother operated a motel in Fargo in the 1950s before he returned to the Twin Cities to join the Onan Corporation, where he enjoyed a long career as vice president of marketing and sales. An avid golfer, he was an original member of Hazeltine National Golf Course as well as a past president of the Minnetonka Country Club. Bill enjoyed his lake cabin, fishing and being surrounded by family. Funeral service Tuesday, January 15, St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7180 Hemlock Lane, Maple Grove.
