Donald Tayor Edwards, 77, passed away Friday, December 12, 1997 at his home, surrounded by loved ones.

He was born in Provo, Utah on February 29, 1920, a son of Philo Taylor and Addie May Gurr Edwards. He married Julia Mary Conder on October 4, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Don was reared and educated in Orem. He served his country during World War II in Europe and was awarded a special commendation by General Mark Clark in Vienna, Austria. After returning to the States he moved to Logan to attend school. After graduating he received his Bachelor's Degree from Utah State and settled in Kaysville where he taught for over 30 years at Davis High as an Auto-Mechanics teacher and then a Vocational Ag and Shop teacher.

He served over 15 years in Bishoprics as a clerk or counselor. He served over five years as Bishop of the Kaysville 2nd Ward, also served as a Sunday School teacher, as President of YM's organization, was on Stake High Council and as a High Priest Group leader.

He served many years on the Insurance Board of Educators Mutual and was an FFA advisor at Davis High School. He was a member of the Kaysville Rotary Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of 58 years; two sons, Donald C. (Janine) Edwards, Kaysville; Todd C. Edwards, Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Judy Kay (Lorin) Wilde, Kaysville; Sandra Mary (David) Lanier, Ephraim; 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers, Lamar, LaVell, Lewis, Wayne and Ray; six sisters, Ruby, Melba, Norma, Alene, Colleen and Shirley. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Craig Taylor; grandson, Joe Wilde; brother, Max, and sister, Janice Warwick.

Funeral services will be held at the Kaysville LDS Rock Chapel, 25 So. 200 E. at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 17, 1997. Friends and family may call Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the Church on Wednesday. Interment in Kaysville City Cemetery where Military Honors will be accorded.
