"Nearly all the original settlers in the township of Maugerville were from Massachusetts, the majority from the single county of Essex. Thus the Burpees were from Rowley, the Perleys from Boxford, the Esteys from Newburyport, while other families were from Haverhill, Ipswich, Gloucester, Salem and other towns of this ancient county which antedates all others in Massachusetts but Plymouth. These settlers were almost exclusively of Puritan stock and members of the Congregationalist churches of New England.

The list of the grantees of the Township of Maugerville, alphabetically arranged, includes the following names:—
...Thomas Barker...John Estey, Richard [Ruth] Estey, Richard Estey, jr., Zebulun Estey...

The lower ten lots of the township and Mauger's Island were granted to Joshua Mauger. Just above were the lots of Gervas Say, Nehemiah Hayward, John Russell, Samuel Upton, Zebulon Estey, John Estey, Richard [Ruth] Estey and Edward Coy...
Opposite Middle Island, in order ascending, were Thomas Barker, John Wason, Daniel Palmer, Richard Kimball, Joseph Garrison, Samuel Nevers, Peter Mooers, Richard Estey, jr., Jabez Nevers, Enoch Dow and Hugh Quinton..."- Page 159

The Fiske Family by Albert Augustus Fiske, 1867:
[Ruth Fiske's Ancestry:]

William Fiske, eldest son of Deacon William , [and wife Sarah Kilham Fisk ] resided in Wenham until about 1710, when he removed to Andover, Mass. By wife, Marah, he had sons William (born 1695), Joseph (1701), Ebenezer (1703), Jonathan, and daughters Sarah, Ruth, Lydia and Mary. All these were living in Andover in 1726, and had property distributed to them by deed from their father, who died there in 1745, in his 83d year. His wife Marah (often called Mary) was living in Andover as late as 1734, as appears by her signature to a deed of that date.

or

Joseph Fiske, third son of Deacon William , [and wife Sarah Kilham Fisk ]., of Wenham, married Susan Warner, of Ipswich, to which place he removed about 1700. He had sons Joseph (died young) and Mark, and daughters Susanna, Sarah, Elizabeth, Ruth, and Abigail. By second wife, Elizabeth, married 1742, he had son John, who also died young. Joseph Fiske died in May, 1745.
[Joseph married Susannah Warner abt 1693, who was born 3 Mar 1675/76 in Ipwich Mass. Her parents were John WARNER and Hannah BATCHELDER. Susannah died in July 1742.]

----------

Will - Joseph Fisk of Ipswich, yeoman, made his will May 1; 1745, which was proved same month in 1745, on the 13th, by Capt. Samuel Waite, Daniel Chapman and Daniel Chapman, Jr. Wife Elizth "all ye household goods she brought to me at marriage," & c., among other things the executor "shall carry her to meeting on a good horse on Sabbathday & lecture days when she shall desire it." Daughter Susannah Kilborn. Daughter Ruth Esty. Grandson Mark Platts to have four pounds old tenor "his mother having had considerable of me before." Son Mark Fisk to be Exr & have the residue.

Will - William Fisk of Andover husbandman gives to his ... Fifthly pay my daugther Ruth * * when she is married or comes of age...Ack May 16, 1726" William died 10 Dec 1745

Thoughts: I do not have a copy of Joseph's will, so I don't know if it really mentions "Ruth Easty" or just daughter "Ruth" with Easty added as a transcriber's assumption. If it mentions "Ruth Easty" this implies she is the Ruth that married Richard Estey. Although some lineages have her marrying both Richard Easty and David Kilborn; or just David Kilborn, these assumptions are put in doubt with this will and the fact that she had children with Richard Estey before and at the time she would have been married to David Kilborn. Ruth and Richard were married in Ispwich the home of Joseph and Susannah's family. Ruth and David were married in Andover the home of William and Marah. More than likely, the Ruth that married David Kilborn would be the daughter of William Fiske and Marrah, a first cousin of Ruth Fisk Estey. The debate goes on.
