Anita Mae Rush, 53, of Erie died at 8:47 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014, in the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg after numerous battles with cancer.

She was born March 11, 1961, at Chanute, a daughter of George and Pauline (Haddan) Rush. Anita grew up in Erie and attended Erie schools. She attended Neosho County Community College in Chanute.

She married Larry A. Green on July 14, 1991, at Friends Church, Stark. He survives of the home.

Anita worked for over 25 years at NuWa in Chanute. After NuWa she worked for Tank Connection in Parsons for several years. She enjoyed working at NuWa and Tank Connection and was very appreciative of all of the help and support from both companies during her illnesses.

Anita enjoyed her family and friends, being a loving and caring mother figure to all her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She also enjoyed fishing and music and was a beautiful singer. She was a member and song leader at Friends Church in Stark.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, Larry Green, of the home, are her father, George Rush of Erie; her brothers, Glen Rush and his wife, Ellen, of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Ed Rush of Branson, Missouri, and Steven Rush and his wife, Carla, of Erie; and her sisters, Donna Morrison and her husband, Gary, of New Berlin, Wisconsin, and Mary Grady and her husband, Archie, of Erie.

She was preceded in death by her mother on Sept. 12, 2014; and her sister, Peggy McGuire, in December 2003.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Friends Church fellowship hall in Stark. Inurnment will be at a later date in Shaw Cemetery at Shaw.

Memorials are suggested to Stark Friends Church and may be left at the church or mailed to Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, P.O. Box 182, Erie, 66733.
