Spring Grove, Philip E. Yohe, 95, passed away at home on October 30, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of the late Ruth J. (Wherley) Yohe, who passed away in 2006.
Philip was born in Spring Grove on April 26, 1921 and was the son of the late Curtis and Mary Ellen (Laughman) Yohe.
He was the last surviving child of his parent's 19 children. He proudly served his country during World War II before he was honorably discharged. He was a long time employee of the P.H. Glatfelter Papermill where he worked for over 40 year and joined the Quarter-Century Club before retiring. He was also a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hanover.
Philip is survived by his daughter, Mary Ellen Yohe; his sons, Jay Eric Yohe and wife, Sheila, and Scott Alan Yohe; his grandchildren, Amber, Seth, and Matthew; and his great-grandchildren, Madison, Logan, and Kelsie. In addition to his wife, parents, and siblings, Philip was predeceased by his two sons, Philip and Mark; and his granddaughter, Destiny.
Following cremation, a memorial service in celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 175 N. Main St. Spring Grove, with Pastor Robert Burkhart officiating.
Following the service Philip will be laid to rest next to his wife at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hanover. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. www.beckfunerals.com
