Mrs. K. J. Davis, widow of W. W. Davis applied for a Confederate Pension on 11 Aug 1923 at Grayson County, Virginia and said they married in 1869 at Luray (sic) County, North Carolina. At that time it was states that W. W. Davis died 15 Jul 1923 at Grayson County, Virginia.
In 1880 W. W. Davis (a farmer), K. J. Davis (age 24), J. W. Davis (age 10, son, born NC); E. H. Davis (age 7, son, born VA); T. B. Davis (age 5, son, born VA); and S. M. Davis (age 1, daughter, born VA) were living at Elk Creek, Grayson County, Virginia.
In 1900 Wesley (a farmer), Josephine (mother of seven, all living), and daughters May S. (age 21), Ella "Ellen" Margaret (age 17, married George Thomas Pearce (1884-1971)), Florence J. (age 11, married Blaine Albert Klinefelter (1884-1936)) and Mabel "Mary" Claire (1891-1931, married Henry Samuel Webster) were living at Oldtown, Grayson County, Virginia. All four daughters were born in Virginia.
In 1910 Wesley W. Davis, Kizzie J. Davis, and single daughters Florence and Mable C. were living at Pipers Gap, Carroll County, Virginia.
