Melissa K. "Missy" Auton Ford, 39, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur with her family by her side.

Missy was born August 25, 1975 in Decatur, Illinois the daughter of Larry Auton and Judy (Jackson) Lippard. She graduated from Eisenhower High School class of 1993 and attended Illinois State University. She grew up loving to dance and a member of Studio B from a young age as a dancer and later became a teacher. Her dance experience took her to be a proud member of the Eisenhower Pom Squad. She was employed as an accounts receivable manager with ADM.

Missy's greatest joy in life was her two boys Jackson and Ryker, precious gifts from God. She was a proud mother attending every sporting event, school production, or just hanging out with her boys. Family meant everything to Missy as well and she was there for everyone. She had the most beautiful, contagious smile and a heart just as big. Even though she was busy with her boys, she always made time to spend with her niece and nephews with sleepovers and attended their sporting events as well. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, granddaughter, cousin, and friend who made friends wherever she went and touched the hearts of many.

She leaves behind her sons Jackson Guy and Ryker Samuel Ford, father Larry (Shelly) Auton, mother Judy (John) Lippard, grandparents Cora and Jim Jackson and Lyda "Tootie" Claypool, brother Larry (Julie) Auton Jr., nephews Andrew, Zachary, and Nicholas Auton, and niece Lauren Auton.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the nursing staff of 5100 & ICU at DMH, Cancer Care Specialist of Central Illinois especially Allison, her close friend Nakia, and finally to her mentor Becki Sadomytschenko, the staff, and dancers at Studio B.

Missy was so strong and very competitive even up to the last day on Earth. God has taken our child to fill his rose garden with beauty and sunshine.

Services to celebrate Missy's life will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the WSOY Food Drive.
