Roger Leonard McCoy, age 85 of Sparta, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 in his home. He was born October 13, 1928 in Ozark, the son of Samuel Leonard and Flora Elizabeth (Melton) McCoy.
On October 29, 1992 Roger was united in marriage to Mable Elva (Hull.)
Roger worked as a truck driver, for all kinds of industries.
Roger loved attending gospel singings and The Oldfield Opry. He attended Chadwick Baptist Temple. Roger was a jokester and a prankster - always enjoying a good laugh.
Survivors include five children, Diane Palmer and husband Dave, Danny McCoy, Donnie McCoy and wife Debrah, Darrell McCoy, and Melissa Knudsen and husband Clint; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mable; two children, Sammy Dean McCoy and Douglas Lee McCoy; and his sister, Allene Pryer.
Burial in Selmore Cemetery.
