Oregon State Police have identified the 28-year-old female whose body was discovered Wednesday afternoon on Truax Island east of Corvallis.
Katherine Yehle Davidson, of Albany, was identified as the “victim,” according to a press release from Oregon State Police. The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy Thursday morning, but the manner and cause of death is undetermined at this time.
“Toxicology test results are pending to assist in determination of the cause of her death. There is no evidence at this time to indicate her death was the result of a crime,” OSP representatives said in the release.
The toxicology test results could take several weeks, said OSP Lt. Gregg Hastings on Friday. Hastings noted that the time of death is undetermined, but the time was likely “fairly recent” and no missing person’s report was filed in the case.
The Linn County Major Crime Team is conducting the investigation that began shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday when OSP investigators went to the island in the Willamette River, according to previous reports.
Truax Island is in Linn County, in the Willamette Greenway off Riverside Drive north of Highway 34.
Davidson was a 2005 graduate of West Albany High School.

Katherine “Kati” Yehle Davidson, 28, of Albany died last week on Truax Island in Linn County.
Beloved daughter of Scarlett Davidson and Andy Davidson, she was born Nov. 30, 1985, in Salem, and grew up in Corvallis and Albany. She graduated with honors from West Albany High School in 2005, and achieved a 4.0 grade-point average for her studies in engineering at Linn-Benton Community College.
Music and art were very important to her: she sang beautifully; played the French horn, piano and bass guitar; and was an accomplished artist. She loved to create and perform for her friends and family. She enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, swimming, collecting agates and taking pictures.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her sister, Rosey (Greg) Doane; brother, Charles Davidson; nephew, Parker Doane; grandparents, Lindell and Maria Davidson and Joyce Becotte; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, step-family members and friends.
A memorial service will take place at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Corvallis, 2945 N.W. Circle Blvd. Memorial donations can be made to the Arthritis National Research Foundation.
