Dock Westley Havner, 92, went home to his Lord and Savior on September 19, 2014 at 3:45 p.m.

Mr. Havner was born April 14, 1922, in Hart, Texas to Harvey "Jack" and Emma Clina Wheeler Havner.
He married Frances Erna Lee McMillan on April 25, 1942.
He served in all branches of the armed forces. Starting with the Navy, then to the Marines, then serving in the Army Air Corp and after switched to the Airforce when the Army Air Corp separated. He often bragged about being a cook on a ship and his second job on the ship was being a gunner. There were many war and service tales that he used to amuse children and his grandchildren. He worked for many years as a pusher for B&B Construction out of Odessa. Then returned to complete his military service and retiring from the civil service as the assistant dietitian at the Dyess Hospital in February 26, 1987. Dock enjoyed fishing and hunting but his children believe his favorite hobbies were dancing with his wife and cheating at dominoes.

He was a member of the Second Baptist Church. He enjoyed his relationship with his Lord and Savior an his numerous friends. He also enjoyed his special friendship with both Pastor Robert Chambers and Correne Pinkston.

Erna and Dock shared the love of their children and are survived by them, Carol (Thomas) Talbot of Abilene, Linda (Wade) Clark of Zephyr, Sue (Robert) Ruehling of Eula, June (Denis) Baysinger of Abilene, Mike (Barbara) Havner of Clyde, Steve Havner of Sweetwater and David Havner of Tuscola; 106 grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and three still to come.

Mr. Havner was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Erna Lee; two grandsons, Joe Westley Havner and Billy Charles Talbot; a son-in-law, Thomas Edward Talbot; a daughter in law, Wendy Ann Havner; and all of his brothers and sisters, Harvey, Virgil, Junior, Bessie, Lillian and Faye.

Pallbearers will be Paul Talbot, Jim Clark, Jerry Clark, Shawn Baysinger, Brad Baysinger and Duane Baysinger. Honorary pallbearers will be Parker Clark, Marshall Clark and Eric Baysinger.
