He moved with his parents to Junction City, Kansas in 1883 and came to Lebo in 1890. He remained here the rest of his life. He was married to Cora Miller in August 1897, who died in 1906. To this union were born four children, Clara A., Otis E., Warren T. and Vida I.
He was married to Erma Miller in Burlington, Kansas September 27, 1910, who survives him. Also surviving are, Mrs. Ed Hodges, Emporia, Mrs. Norman Smith, Reading, Mrs. Sylvester Makepeace and Mrs. Jack Tatman, Lebo; six sons, Otis, Long Beach, Calif., Warren, Dean, Edward, Richard and Alfred, all of Lebo. One daughter Goldie, preceded him in death. Two brothers, George and Wesley Givens, Lebo, also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister, five half-brothers and one half-sister.
