MELROSE F. "MEL" ADAMS, 75, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, December 23, 1997. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Loran Harper, pastor of Comanche Trail Church of Christ, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Buffalo Cemetery in Sweetwater, Okla., with Harold Thurman of Sayre Church of Christ in Sayre, Okla., officiating.
Mr. Adams was born in Mayfield, Okla. He moved to Amarillo 48 years ago from Sayre. He worked as a sales representative for Service and Supply for several years. He also worked as a wholesale grocer for more than 25 years.
He married Leta Copenhaver in 1946 at Sayre.
Mr. Adams was a member of Comanche Trail Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kathy West of Arlington, and Cindi Jones of Amarillo; a son, Ricky Adams of Amarillo; a sister, Marylyn Winn of Clovis, Calif.; a brother, Theo Fravil Adams of Calimesa, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
