Brian had been employed for 15 years at Volvo in Wooster, and most recently as a Teen Challenge counselor in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. After leaving that position, he continued to counsel people through the Christian faith. Other interests included boating and fishing.
Brian is survived by a son, Cory (Lindsey) Valentine of Elyria; grandchildren, Dayonte and Alonna Horton; sister, Carrie (Luke) Lucas of Sandston, Virginia and a close childhood friend, Mary Ann Callesen of Vermillion.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Lynn Valentine in 2011 and parents, Dwain and Jewel Valentine.
Friends will be received Sunday, September 21, 2014, from 2 until 4 P.M., at Dicken Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Elyria. Burial will be in Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
