Helen G. Barnum, 77, Sarasota, died Aug. 27, 2003. She was born March 31, 1926, in Deer Park, Wis., and came to Sarasota in 1966 from Grand Rapids, Mich. She was a homemaker and a member of Missouri Synod Lutheran Church. Survivors include a daughter, Jan Legg of North Palm Beach; a son, Greg of Sarasota; a sister, Margaret Krueger of Star Prairie, Wis.; brothers Herbert Gust of New Richmond, Wis., and Orville Gust of Deer Park; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. No local visitation is scheduled. Services will be in Deer Park. Covell Cremation and Funeral Center, Bradenton, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
