Obituary - Jerald Douglas Beatty, age 54, passed away Sunday, October 18, 1998 in Ogden, Utah from complications from a stroke.

He was born March 26, 1944 in Las Vegas, Nevada, the son of Arlo F. and Carrie Graff Beatty. He married Linda Gail Seegmiller on August 14, 1971 in the St. George LDS Temple.

Jerald was reared and educated in Las Vegas, and graduated from Rancho High School. He served a mission for the LDS Church in the West Central States. He was an active member of the church. In Las Vegas, he was Explorer Leader, a Priest Quorum Advisor and taught early morning Seminary. He has resided in Kaysville since 1979, where he was a member of the Kaysville 4th Ward, serving as Scout Master, and Gospel Doctrine teacher.

He had been active in the community, receiving the Total Citizen award in 1989, presented by the Utah State Chamber of Commerce; the Employer of the Year award in 1991, presented by the Association for Retarded Citizens; and the Award of Merit, presented by the Boy Scouts of America. He had previously been the manager of the Kaysville Drug and co-owner of the Green Apple Cafe and the Basement Stores, and was currently the assistant manager of the Parts Dept. at Blaine Jensen and Sons.

His hobbies and loves were fishing, gardening, singing and sharing his talents with all.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Gail, Kaysville; a son, Tracy Douglas Beatty, Kaysville; two daughters, Brenda Diane (Mark J.) Womack, South Ogden; Barbara Lynn Beatty, Kaysville; his mother, Carrie Beatty, two brothers, Bill Beatty and Melvin Beatty; his sister, Marsha (Bob) Borovicka, all of Las Vegas, NV. He was preceded in death by his father, Arlo; and a brother, Ralph Beatty.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24, 1998, at 1 p.m. at the Kaysville 4th LDS Ward, 875 E. 200 No. Friends and family may call Friday at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main, from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to services. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
