Vene Billings Collett, 79, passed away Sunday, April 9, 1995, in Logan, Utah.

He was born November 13, 1915 in Vernal, Utah, a son of Wiley Sylvanus and Erma American Billings Collett. He married Mary Rasmussen, January 10, 1946 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He lived in Vernal until he was five years old when his family moved to Wyoming, where they lived for some 20 years. They returned to Vernal about 1941 where he lived when he was married. He and his wife lived in a number of places, then moved to Kaysville in 1958. He graduated from high school in Lyman, Wyoming and attended one year at Weber College. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served a mission in the East Central States, two stake missions, as a Seventy and was currently serving as a High Priest in the Kaysville 8th Ward. He retired from Hill Air Force Base where he worked as an electrician. He also was a farmer and rancher. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and was an accomplished artist and enjoyed painting.

Surviving are his wife, of Kaysville, Utah; four sons and two daughters, Vene Brent Collett, Bountiful, Utah; Don N. (Debi) Collett, Brigham City, Utah; Scott E. Collett, Claire L. Collett, both of Kaysville, Utah; Arlene C. Sharpe, Ferron, Utah; (Inez) Mrs. Steven Pierce, Clearfield, Utah; 11 grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, (Anna) Mrs. Daniel Smith, Rock Springs, Wyoming; (Beth) Mrs. Tex Sweatfield, (Alice) Mrs. Ferrel Slaugh, (LaRae) Mrs. Bryce Caldwell, all of Vernal, Utah. He was preceded in death by one sister, (Vella) Mrs. Burlin Jackman and one brother, Don B. Collett.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 14, 1995, 2 p.m. at the Kaysville LDS Rock Chapel, 25 South 200 East, Kaysville. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main St. and at the church Friday from 12:45-1:45 p.m. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
