VIRGIL ARNOLD BUTLER of Tavares, FL died at Cornerstone Hospice House - he was the son of William A and Tessa Mabel Huffman Butler. Preceded in death by his son, Joseph A Butler; step-son, Charles L Causey, Jr and siblings, George Burris Butler, Floyd E Butler and Dorothy June Swank, surviving are hiswife of 52 years, Miriam L Causey Butler of Tavares FL; children, Linda Ann Lang of Altamonte Springs, FL, James Randall Butler of Bowling Green, FL; stepson, Paul Causey of Bangkok, Thailand; 4 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Virgil was a WWII, U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force veteran serving as a member of the 14th AF, 74th FS serving in the China Theatre under Gen. Claire Cheneault, was a Flying Tiger pilot of P-40s in China and F-84s in Korea, was awarded a Purple Heart and retired as an insurance auditor ABCO & Associates. A memorial service will be held September 20, 2014 at at Adventure Christian Church in Tavares. Published in the Orlando Sentinel on Sept. 19, 2014
