- Services for Roberta Gipson, Ada, 92, are 2 p.m. Thursday at Smith-
Phillips Funeral Home, the Rev. George Carson officiating. Burial follows at
Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Gipson died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at her home. She was born Nov. 1, 1912,
in Peggs to James William and Eudora Viola Allen Hagler.

She married Elmo Jamerson Gipson Feb. 5, 1933, at Sunshine Missionary Baptist
Church. Mr. Gipson died April 11, 2001.

Mrs. Gipson attended Latta High School and obtained a LPN license at Valley
View Nursing School in Ada. She worked at Valley View Regional Hospital for
many years. She was a lifelong resident of Ada and a charter member of Morris
Memorial Baptist Church in Latta and Women’s Missionary Union for many years.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Sylvester and Wanda Gipson, Ada;
four daughters and two sons-in-law, Elmalene and Lawrence Hamilton,
Bartlesville, Lolita and Paul Faught, Wilson, Carmell Everett, Roff, and Fern
Lookout, Ada; a sister, Etta Lorene Green, Roseville, Calif.; 18
grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 22 great-great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Eudora Hagler, a brother,
Clarence Hagler, a sister, Mary Onnerene Lindsey, and a grandson, Michael
“Frankie” Capps.

Bearers are Glen Dale Tatum, Randy Ellison, Lawrence Hamilton, Marcus Capps,
Wayde Hamilton and Clint Hamilton.

Honorary bearers are Paul Faught, Travis Ellison, David Hamilton and James
Treas.
