LEONA HUGHES

MONTICELLO--Leona Hughes, 58, 1 Reynolds St., died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday in White County Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 5, 1925, in LaCross, to Louis and Johanna Hundt Gross. On Feb. 23, 1946, she was married to Harold "Barney" Hughes, who survives.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Monticello Bowling League.

Also surviving are two daughters, Sharon Pearson and Penny Bidle, both of Monticello; a sister, Edna Wothke, North Judson; three brothers, Fred Gross, Mesa, Ariz.; Eugene Gross, North Judson; and Wilbur Gross, Gary; and four grandchildren.

Two brothers and two sisters preceded in death.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Church Building Fund.
