Elizabeth Mintz "Bunkie" Hair, 79, of 102 Oakfield Ave., widow of Bruce Bristow Hair, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at her residence.
Born in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Van Gressette and Myrtle Wright Mintz. Mrs. Hair received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Coker college in 1944, and received a Masters Degree in Education from Clemson University in 1980. She was a homemaker and was a former special education teacher in Pickens County. A member of First Baptist Church in Easley, Mrs. Hair belonged to the Philethea Sunday School Class. She was also a member of The Better Homes Club, and was very active with Better Skills and ARC.
Surviving are two sons, Daniel C. Hair and David B. Hair, both of the home; two daughters, Anne H. Bull, and her husband, Dennis, of Lexington, and Ellen H. Baumgardner, and her husband, Stephen, of Irmo; and four grandchildren, Sally and Seth Bull, and Rhett and Sam Baumgardner.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, in the Chapel of First Baptist Church in Easley, conducted by the Rev. Dr. John Adams. Entombment will be at Chapel of Reflection Mausoleum at Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.
Escort of Honor will be the Philethea Sunday School Class and the Roy McCall Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends tonight, from 6 to 7:30, and will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pickens County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs, P.O. Box 1308, Easley, SC 29641; or, to First Baptist Church, 300 E. First Ave., Easley, SC 29640.
The family is at the home.
