Elmira: Age 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Jim was born January 9, 1929 in Clinchburg VA the son of James C. and Mary (Taladay) Keefe. He is predeceased by his wife Mary Marrone Keefe, infant daughters, Joella and Rose Marie Keefe and daughter Carol A. Keefe. Jim is survived by his children, and their families, Mary G. and Tom Kimble of Elmira, with children, Thomas and Jennell; Carol's son Marcus Keefe of Elmira; William J. and Marianne Keefe of Elmira with children, James Keefe and Kerianne (Andrew) Brooks; Tina M. and Kevin Garling of Lowman, with children, Josh (Ashley) Garling, Jessie (Cas) Droleski and Kevin Garling; Joseph M. and Kathleen Keefe of Horseheads with children, Miranda and Billy Keefe; 10 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Catherine and John Kolanach of Elmira; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michael and Nancy Marrone of Elmira, Wilhelmina and William Mack of Horseheads; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was a U S Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a Parts Manager for various trucking companies in the Elmira Area. Jim enjoyed gardening, going to auctions and rummage sales. His greatest love was spending time with his family and being "Papa Motts". Private interment will be at Woodlawn National Cemetery. Friends are invited to Jim's Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church.
