Major League Baseball Player. The reserve infielder played for the Cincinnati Reds (1944-45, 1947), the Philadelphia Athletics (1950-51) and St. Louis Browns (1951). His most productive season was 1950, when he hit .257 in 89 games for the Athletics. He was traded by the A's to the Chicago White Sox on June 4, 1951 for third baseman Hank Majeski. On the same day, the White Sox peddled him with outfielder Paul Lehner and cash to the Browns for outfielder Don "Footsie" Lenhardt. On July 31, 1951, St. Louis sent him with pitchers Bobby Hogue and Lou Slater and infielder Tommy Upton to the New York Yankees for outfielder Cliff Mapes. But he never played a game with New York, going to the minor leagues instead. Wahl's five-year totals: .226 batting average, three homers and 50 runs batted in.
